After a long awaited hiatus, Kumar Shome & The Punkawallahs return with their 3rd release 'Kanya".
'Kanya' explores Shome’s personal story, with songs celebrating his Indian culture, his experiences growing up in Australia and his journey through the Melbourne music scene, which started at an early age. The album features a heady mix of soulful, contemplative songs and electrifying dance tunes.
Simlarly to their previous releases This album shares once again the band's unique 'psych-jazz-funk' sound. featuring soulful fiery melodies and energetic uplifting stylings, while building polyrhythmic layers between guitars, bass and drums.
